Costello’s Nursing Home is located in the Shannonside village of Ballyleague Co Roscommon, just off N63 primary route between Longford and Roscommon.

There is a pedestrian footpath leading to the shops, and business facilities. A church is located in the immediate vicinity.

Residents are all accommodated on the ground floor, and the accommodation consists of 17 single bedrooms, featuring both en suite and shared bathroom facilities, and five twin en-suite bedrooms, catering for both men & women, single and mixed share.

Other facilitates in their nursing home include a large day sitting room, dining room & conservatory. There is an oratory, a hair salon, a designated smoking room, a private visitors’ room and a private secure outdoor seating area.

Various activities are run in the nursing home for their residents on a daily basis which vary from live music, aromatherapy and a fit for life physiotherapy programme.

Costello's Nursing Home strive to ensure they deliver the best quality of care to their residents on a daily basis. They cater for short term admissions, long term admissions, respite, convalescent care, day care and much more.

What is the Nursing Homes Support Scheme?

The Nursing Homes Support Scheme provides financial support towards the cost of long-term nursing home care. Under the scheme, people who need nursing home care have their income and assets assessed, and then make a contribution towards the cost of their care based on their assessment.

The HSE will pay the rest, if any, of the costs of their care in designated public and approved private nursing homes covered under the scheme. People can choose care in any of the nursing homes included in the scheme provided that the nursing home can cater for the person's particular needs and that it has a place available for the person.

As the budget for this scheme is fixed each year, at times a waiting list for financial support may be in place
